Hamstring Stretch Variation – Part 2

How to perform this stretch:

• Starting from a kneeling position, bring one leg in front so that it is straight and the toe is upright
• To progress, bring the front leg further forward closer to a ‘splits’ position
Option 1: Twisting to the same side as the leg in front. Remember to keep the spine upright and arms as close in level with the shoulders
Option 2: Side reach with the opposite arm to the leg in front. Remember to allow the hips to move to the side as well.

If kneeling option is difficult, here are 2 alternatives:

• Place cushion(s) between your buttocks and ankles, as shown in the video
• Try my Hamstring Stretch Series 1 and 3.
