Variations:

  1. Twisting with feet wide apart
  2. Twisting in a staggered stance towards the leg that’s in front
  3. Twisting in a staggered stance towards the leg that’s in front - top hand underhand grip reaching diagonally across (135 degrees)

    How to perform this stretch:

  • Start by standing with a golf stick, bar or even a broomstick!
  • Have both hands on top (unless variation 3) either in line with the shoulders or wider
  • When twisting, ensure the arms stay straight and the middle of the bar stays in line with the middle of the chest

Staggered Stance:

  • Ensure the back foot is on the toe with the heel facing the ceiling/sky
  • If you find it difficult to balance, try with the feet wider
  • If you’re still having balance issues, you’ll need to regress to my lower body "Home Exercise" series videos to strengthen the legs first!

Option:

  • With the head facing forward to train keeping your eyes facing the ball!

Uncomfortable for the lower back?

  • Widen the staggered stance
  • Lift up from the chest/sternum more, rather than from the lower back
